I am intending retiring in early 2008 and to ensure clients have the comfort of continuity and ongoing quality service, I am arranging an amalgamation with a reputable and very experienced Global Forwarder, Aviocean Natal cc with branches in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town. Aviocean is Customs Accredited with its own Customs Bond Store, Warehousing Facilities, Container Pack and Unpack Facilities and Airfreight Division. This family-owned and family-run company is personally managed by husband and wife team Des and Ellen Sutherland. They will be employing my very efficient Operations Manager, Vino Ruthnum, in their Projects Division from 1 October 2007 where he will be based in their Durban office which has a staff complement of 35 members in the various Aviocean divisions. To ensure a smooth transition I will be personally involved in supporting this new arrangement/venture in a consultative role until at least the first or second quarter of 2008.
As most of you have had the pleasure of dealing with Vino in the past, I do not need to sing his praises. Suffice it to say that Aviocean are acquiring a loyal, dedicated and patriotic member of staff who has given HK Shipping fantastic and instinting support over the last 12 years. He is meticulous in all he does and his service to clients is unsurpassed.
